Two of Ale Paul’s obsessions (packaging and hand lettering) converge with Semilla. The inspiration came from an unexpected source. In doing research for another of his American lettering-based faces, Paul came across a 1950s German lettering book by Ernst Bentele. In designing the upbeat, youthful Semilla, Paul abandoned all analog and digital brushes and pens in favor of Bézier curves.
