Type designer Phil Martin created Grad — a redesign of Century Schoolbook — in the early ’90s. He made design changes and added several features. Mark Simonson worked with Martin to “bring Grad into the 21st century as a family of three feature-rich OpenType fonts.” Said features include swash alternates, discretionary ligatures, ornaments, small caps, and lining and old-style figures.
